August 2006
Progress continues on our parking lot repairs. We are happy to
announce that we are ready to re-open the Perdido lot located at
the intersection of Perdido Street and S. Roman Street.
As noted in the parking regulations, Perdido lot parking access
is authorized for Graduate Students, 3rd & 4th Year Medicine
Students, and assigned Roman garage faculty and staff.
The Perdido lot also offers accessible parking spaces for
employees and students with mobility impairment. Vehicles parked
in accessible spaces should properly display the authorized
accessible permit. The accessible building entrance is the
Residence Hall building with its associated elevators and
accessible lift.
Employees and students choosing to park on-street should be
aware of City of New Orleans parking regulations and meter
enforcement. Although City of New Orleans meter enforcement may
not be regularly visible at this time, meter enforcement
citations have been reported by staff.
Should you have any questions or need assistance of any kind,
please feel free to contact Parking Services at park
or 568-4884.

August 2006
We are pleased to announce the re-opening of Student lot 3 on
Perdido Street. Student lot 3 is available to registered
students and student workers with general parking access.
The lot formerly designated as Student lot 5 will be
re-designated as Student lot 1. At this time, Student lots 1, 2,
and 3 are open for student parking. Student housing residents
will utilize parking in the Residence Hall lot or Gravier St.
Garage (Stanislaus Hall).
Lot T is now repaired and access will be restricted to approved
registered parkers. Additional parking access controls and
electronics will be repaired in the near future and the
respective parking lots re-opened.
Abundant visitor parking is available adjacent to campus
buildings, in the form of on-street parking and private pay
lots.
Parking lot authorization is identified by the unique color
strips for the various parking facilities. Parkers that switched
assigned parking facilities (such as Gravier garage to Roman
garage) should be properly displaying the appropriate decal.
Parking lot enforcement will resume shortly. Parking regulations
will be monitored and warning citations will be issued for the
first violation until Labor Day. After which, violations will be
fined. Parking regulations may be reviewed here.
We anticipate a lighting improvement project in the student lots
will begin in the near future. There may be small sections of
the lots secured at times as poles are removed and re-installed
at the designated points.
Should you have any questions or need assistance of any kind,
please feel free to contact Parking Services at park
or 568-4884.
Thank you for your cooperation.
May 2006
Effective June 1, 2006, parking fees will be re-instated for
parking privileges in New Orleans parking facilities. Faculty
and staff should complete the parking
payroll deduction form
and email to park or sign and fax to 504-568-2116
to indicate your authorization for payroll deduction. Please
designate your parking deduction preference as pre-tax or
taxable.
In the month of June, everyone authorizing a parking deduction
will be deducted once for the full monthly amount on the last
paycheck for the month of June. Thereafter, bi-weekly employees
will receive their deductions pro-rated on a bi-weekly basis.
If you prefer to pay an annual lump sum amount (FY07 amount plus
June 2006), you may pay the full amount (check only). Please
return the form or make payment by June 1, 2006. Business
managers should notify their departmental student workers
(student workers should contact Parking Services regarding their
fees). Should you choose to hand deliver your form, payment or
need personal assistance, the office of Parking Services will be
occupying temporary space in the CSRB Building (533 Bolivar),
Room 265 effective May 22nd. Parking fees may be viewed here.
The following secured parking facilities are anticipated to be
available June 1 for registered parkers: Roman St. Garage,
Gravier St. Garage, and Student lot 5. Faculty and staff will
have access to the Roman St. Garage or Gravier St. Garage based
upon garage assignment. Registered students will have access to
Student lot 5 and Roman Street Garage (only until Student lot 2
becomes available in near future). Student housing residents
will utilize parking in the Residence Hall lot or Gravier St.
Garage (Stanislaus Hall). Parking lot authorization is
identified by the unique color strips for the various parking
facilities. As access controls and electronics are repaired and
additional lots opened, parking access privileges will be
modified.
Should you have any questions or need assistance of any kind,
please feel free to contact Parking Services at park
or 568-4884.
Thank you for your cooperation.
